Renée began sewing at an early age using fabric from her mother's scrap basket to make clothes and quilts for her dolls. Her mother and both grandmothers, each one accomplished seamstresses, taught her sewing skills. A love for early American quilts and dolls influences her in creating designs for Liberty Star patterns. She attended California State College at Fullerton majoring in fine arts with an emphasis in textiles. Renée and her husband live in Scottsdale, AZ
